Under the general supervision of the Imaging Supervisor and the Director of Imaging Services, the mammography technologist is an experienced imaging professional trained in producing x-rays of breasts in order to locate abnormalities. They utilize specialized equipment for mammography procedures. It is important that professional training for proper equipment and positioning techniques are used to optimize a thorough understanding of all mammography processes. She must have a complete understanding of American College of Radiology and MQSA quality management processes and reports assessing quality for the department.

1. Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiology Technology.

2. Current registration with A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiology Technologist) or registration eligible.

3. Certified by the Texas Department of Health.

4. Currently registered or registry eligible or certified in Mammography technology

5. Previous experience in hospital environment preferred.

6. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).

Under the general supervision of the Imaging Director, the Mammography Technologist is responsible for the provision of Mammography services to patients according to physicians ? orders. Provides for patient safety and high quality testing, Following all MQSA and FDA standards for Mammography. 1. Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiology Technology.2. Current registration with A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiology Technologist) or registration eligible.3. Graduate of Mammography training course.4. Current registration in Mammography or registry eligible in mammography.5. Certified by the Texas Department of Health.6. Salary range: 25.00 - 40.00
